A little sensitive. Because genocide.Riding into town this morning to try to get my front brakes fixed. I found myself riding past the Israeli Embassy and on a whim I decided to stop and take a picture….because I wanted an excuse to post a photo and say: Fuck you Benjamin, you cloth-eared genocidal war criminal. No sooner had I stopped and pulled my camera out of my pannier than a dude came running out from behind the gate. I’m assuming he was security (he didn’t identify himself), and he started yelling at me not to take any pictures. Now, I was pretty sure I totally can take photos of an embassy from a public sidewalk…even a sensitive embassy representing a government engaged in the unlawful wholesale slaughter of Palestinian men, women and children. But I decided not to press the point.Oh no….now a fully kitted Australian Federal Police Officer stepped out of a nearby security booth. Methinks I am in so much shit. But no. The officer engaged in an animated discussion with the security dude letting him know in no uncertain terms that it was totally legal for me to take photos from where I was standing. This filled me with a steaming dolop of overcocky self-righteous bravado, and whilst they were ‘in conversation’ I took my photo (below). And then I snapped (probably unwisely, but what the hell) a photo of the security dude for good measure. Figuring this was enough luck-pushing for one day…I thanked the officer and rode away as fast as my little chicken-shit legs could peddle.#Australia #blackAndWhite #photography
