The Avesuorri open wilderness hut, Avisuorakammi in Finnish, in the Pulju Wilderness Area, Finland. I visited this very cozy and small kammi while solo ski touring in the area in February 2024. A kammi is a traditional small hut built with a wooden frame and insulated with peat collected from a nearby bog. The peat acts as insulation on top of the structure. In the past, birch bark was used to separate the peat from the frame, but nowadays plastic is used instead.
