I don't edit them much. Only subtle changes. I convert them from RAW in Raw Therapee. Then I either adjust brightness/contrast of the picture in Raw Therapee or move to Photoshop CS5 (that I bought a long time ago and which still works fine for my tasks). I tend to underexpose my photos to save the details of fur, so it mostly adding some brightness (sometimes partial brightness through the mask) and maybe color temperature (I set my camera to 5400K color because I like the warmth and resemblance to film). Once in a while I retouch particles of dirt from their coats in respect to the cats or remove a cigarette butt laying nearby :) No complex editing/retouching at all.
