How to follow Bluesky from Mastodon and Mastodon from BlueskyFiguring out which social media services to use can be difficult. From Mastodon, you can follow users on any Mastodon instance and folks using things like WordPress, Flipboard, Pixelfed, and Threads. If you or your friends use Bluesky, you can’t directly follow folks on other services. Bluesky uses the AT Protocol (Authenticated Transfer Protocol, or atproto), whereas the other services use ActivityPub. The two aren’t compatible with each other. A while back, I found Bridgy Fed to bridge the gap between the two, though. If you follow @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy from your Mastodon account or @ap.brid.gy from your Bluesky account, it creates an account on the other service and syncs everything.  Using it, I can have my original GoToSocial (compatible with Mastodon but different) account bridged to a Bluesky account.  You can follow it, like posts, and send replies.  The bridge has its issues, but it is much easier than maintaining multiple accounts on multiple services.  The alternative is to use something like OpenVibe.#Bluesky #Fediverse #Mastodon

I have a Bluesky account that I have bridged to Mastodon. I use my domain name as a handle. I also want that Bluesky account to post to Pixelfed (pixelfed.social specifically) and can't seem to get that to work. I'm not even sure if it's possible. he tutorials and such I've looked at never explicitly states that it is. I have a bridgy from this account and it posts to a bluesky account, but not the one with my domain name as a handle. I have _atproto DNS TXT entries for each one on my domain and they propagate. If I could get the Bluesky account to post on Pixelfed, even if I have to create a new account, I'm willing to take whatever steps I need to in order to make that happen, but I just don't understand the underlying protocol enough to figure it out. I can't seem to find a way to create a pixelfed account from my bridged Bluesky account, which would seem to be the easiest option if it is possible.
