I spent the first full week of the year by myself in a little holiday cottage near Hoenderloo. I often tend to plan holidays full of activities, and especially when I'm in a larger city or someplace further away I want to see and do ALL THE THINGS! And usually I have a great time, but it's not actually a great way for me to recharge. To get inspired and come up with lots of new ideas sure, but to rest not so much…. The last few months I've felt quite tired and a little burned out, but suddenly I realised that this was what I needed: a get away just by myself in a place that actually wouldn't allow me to do too many things😂 The area around Hoenderloo is a great place for hiking, and I brought with me lots of books, some art supplies, swimming gear and my tablet for watching films, but other than that there were not too many activities available to me to distract me. A good exercise in living in the moment a little more, instead of constantly thinking about all the cool things I COULD be doing… (or starting a million things, but never finishing them😅) I rented a place during the cheapest week possible, and actually not that far from my own home so that I would be able to cycle there. The weather had other plans however, so cycling wasn't the best idea anymore and instead my father dropped me off, but I got to spent the entire week in the snow! Absolutely a wonderful start to the year and I felt so lucky being able to enjoy the snow so much ❄️ #Travel #LittleThings #KleineDingen #SlowLiving #PhotoDiary #ADHD #AuDHD #ActuallyAutistic #Winter #Snow #January #Food

Everything about this sounds perfect. We tend to forget how important it is for us (as humans) to spend time in and with nature. Drawn back from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, surrounded by beauty and silence. I"m happy you got to recharge your batteries at the beginning of the year. Now off to a great 2026!!!
