Well I am not sure never been to the US. However, this is the crater of a volcano, so I guess it's actually a different kind of landscape, not a real desert.

@betazoid It is a beautiful photo of what looks like a beautiful landscape. I was in Tenerife about 7 years ago and I loved it there.
