bergenpixThis is cruise #ship D/Y Meteor in the #Bergen harbour, and cyclists frolicking in the sun. Likely in the 20s, when it flagged to Norway.
Bergen and Western Norway has been a cruise destination for a long time. The 105 meter long ship is German-built in 1904, made as a cruise vessel up and down the Norwegian coast. It was then used as a lodge ship by the German army in WWI, before being captured as a British post ship, before being bought by a Norwegian shipping company as a cruise ship again in the 20s, before being seized by the Nazi occupiers as a hospital ship, before being bombed by Soviet planes outside Pillau (Baltiysk) in Russia in 1945. Phew!

Also, I want to bike in the Bergen spring soon.
