Yhtäkkiä lintu lennähti oksalle hiiren yläpuolelle ja pyrähti heti pakoon, kun huomasi minut. Lintu lensi niin läheltä, että tunnistin isolepinkäiseksi, joka yleensä saalistaa jyrsijöitä korkealta puunlatvasta peltojen lähellä. Lumijäljistä näkee, että jyrsijöitä on metsässä paljon.
