@arcturus Nice photo, I'm just not too sure about the species as it looks a lot more like Imleria badia aka a Bay bolete to me. Their caps are typically less substantial in terms of weight, get way shinier in rain, have a bit darker stem and their cap's underside is spongier and becomes dark when damaged or pressed into. It's still a perfectly edible mushroom, it's just those dark lesions on its cap, possibly undergrowth damage as it grew through it, that makes me suspect it is indeed a Bay bolete. Not sure that it matters though, I'm just being thorough as any seasoned forager should be. But, again, a great photo!
