With apologies to LOTR, Pippin got her name from when she was a kitten she’d hang upside down, usually by resting on a chair with her belly up and her head hanging down the side of the cushion. She looked like a little bat. So we named her Pipistrelle, after a species of a very smol bat. That became Pippin. At 18 she doesn’t quite do the hanging upside down thing anymore but with camera angles we can still reproduce her batlike namesake. #Caturday
