#posters #communism #poland July 22nd was the Poland Rebirth day, the most important date in People's Republic of Poland. That's when the big things were supposed to take place. New constitution, opening new railway stations or parks or any other event that could be used for the benefit of communist propaganda. That was the go-to date for any happy celebration. Poles like to pretend like the second half of 20th century never happened. That it was not Poland. They try to diminish all the hard work that people who believed in socialism had done rebuilding this nation from ashes. They would like to think that Poland just magically popped out of nowhere in the 90s. I spent my childhood living on the street of July 22nd even though I was born after the political transformation and had no idea why the street bore this name. This date is a part of my identity. A reminder, a link to the past, a thought provoking outdated symbol. And it was just a date. It was not the street of a glorious leader, a street of the communist glory, a street of the brotherhood with soviet Russia, it was not Adolf Hitler Straße. It's a date. In 2016 it was erased as part of 'decommunisation' and got replaced by Street On The Hill. Blank, shallow, meaningless. A reminder of nothing. No reason to think or reflect on the past. No reason to assume that the world was any different back then. And anything bad that happened, any wrongdoing - nuh uh, not us. It was the commies. Now go back to sleep and dream of how much you hate Germans. And never mind that it was those damn commie former members of communist party that dragged our sorry asses to NATO and the EU. But no amount of magical wishful thinking will change the fact that most Poles are still post-soviet mindless drones. They'd be happy to repeat all the mistakes of the past and swallow the most primitive propaganda as long as it's anti-communist. Sorry for the long and hateful post. Please enjoy some of the awesome commie posters.

Very relatable from the perspective of what's happening to the United States of America. We were never the utopia we claimed to be, but there was an overwhelming desire to improve, albeit at a glacial pace ... until the Reagan era when polarization really took hold ... we too are a country of mindless capitalist drones swallowing the propaganda of billionaire elites 😟😤😡
