Halloween. Table for three. Camera : Fujifilm XT5 I have never really gotten into the Halloween thing. Back when I was a kid it was barely even celebrated here in Australia. But that has changed. Halloween has been monetised and commercialised and instagram-able-ised , and now its a thing. Ahem . Pushing my overly reflex cynicism aside….some people do a pretty cool job with the horrorfication of their front yards in celebration. I remember traveling through a small town in rural Australia a few years back during Halloween (I cannot for the life of me remember which one), and I went out for an evening walk just at dusk. There was this long street that had completely embraced the spirit of the moment, and it was wild the effort some people had put into it. Families were out and about checking the spooky lay of the land, and groups of dressed-up kids were laughing, screaming, and trick-or-treating their way down the block. Most of them had a considerable haul in their goody bags. The whole thing had this perfect, family-friendly, community vibe and it made an impression on me. I wanted a goody bag too. –ooOoo– Note to self : sometimes you just gotta let go of the stagnant, overthinking, self-righteous cynicism and just get into it. #Australia #blackAndWhite #Canberra #photography
