Mine is also 15 years old. It broke once, then I had it repaired and I still enjoy it. It is actually good for bokeh. If you want a lot of bokeh, one way is to photograph through bushes. So the sun behind it that shines through the bushes or other greenery. Then keep your subject a bit away from it. At f4, for example, 70 to 100 centimeters, so that the bushes become a dark or black vague background. The sun that shines through the leaves then becomes bokeh. You can already see it when you photograph. You see it as hazy light. Maybe you already do that, then sorry for this story.
@Dorine Mine broke too some years ago. The aperture module needed to be replaced. This was expensive. But that lense is worth to be repaired. Now I live on on basic old-age benefits and hope, it will not break again...
