May’s full moon is the Flower Moon, also known by Indigenous names like the Planting Moon (Cherokee), the Moon of Weeding Corn (Algonquin), and the Field Maker Moon (Abenaki). Somewhere near its western edge is Carroll Crater, newly named by the Artemis II crew for the deceased wife of Commander Reid Wiseman.
