jill.strongA lovely bit of reverse glass lettering done around 1929 - we've tried to date it from the changes to the Promenade des Anglais in the photo.
The original is on a bit of 1930s tourist tat firmly stuck to a piece of glass. When the glass got broken, it was essentially worthless so there was no harm in repainting the surrounding glass in a different style (last photo).
I'm still not sure what to do with the frame though :-)
