It's night. It's dark and all around me I'm enveloped in the inky black of nothing. Dressed in my best antique French tuxedo I hold aloft a glowing red and orange parasol. Civilization is far from me. There is a faint outline of mountains in the far inky distance behind me. No people, no city, nothing. Just me. Alone in the universe as a tiny spec of light.
