arcturus This little squirrel saw me coming from beyond the other side of the tree in the image and quickly hid behind it. When I walked past the tree it sat there hiding, keeping exactly still, not moving a hair. I quickly took a couple of pictures and then left it alone.

I have not seen a squirrel do this before, but my best guess is that it's a defensive behaviour to make it harder to spot.
