Velvaerk My collage series of vulvas are very different and yet they have something in common. All of them are made of pictures of nature. Mountains, corals, floods, desserts.. human pollution in water, wild weather. The climate crisis is extreme, because humans (billionaires, corporations, governments) don’t know how to be nature. They are extremely greedy and inhumane. They don’t have respect for nature. Colonialism, imperialism and capitalism have disconnected us from earth and each other.

My vulvas are about resisting, about eco feminism and understanding that we are nature. We are interconnected. We need to connect with the trees, the mountains, the oceans, the corals and the cycles. We are one with this planet.

I will share some of my favourite collages from this series, which I started in 2022. And I’m sure I’ll continue this project and create more collage vulvas.
