🇫🇷 Une photo d'archive de 2003 pour ce #trainTrackTuesday avec la ligne 45 Trois-Ponts - Wévercé/Weywertz - Jünkerath. Cette ligne internationale oubliée, rénovée à grands frais pour l'armée belge à la fin des années 1980 et aujourd'hui déferrée et transformée en RAVeL (Voie verte) après une bref épisode d'exploitation touristique. Affluent de la "Vennbahn", l'épine dorsale qui reliait jadis Aachen (Aix-La-Chapelle) et Troisvierges (Ëlwen) au Grand-Duché de Luxembourg en passant par St-Vith, ville martyre de la seconde guerre mondial et à l'histoire non moins chahutée à l'image de la région qui, aujourd'hui, est sans doute la région la plus calme de la Belgique! Voici donc une ambiance typique de ligne secondaire à Faymonville. This forgotten international railway was rebuild in the late 1980's for the army for a lot of money but today the tracks have been removed and was converted in RAVeL (Cycle/Pedestrian concrete path) after a short "touristic" operation interval. It was a "branch" of the Vennbahn, the former main line that joined Aachen in Germany with Troisvierges (Ëlwen) in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg via St-Vith, which suffered like the whole region a lot during WWII. It's a harsh contrast with nowadays as the region is probably the quietest of Belgium! The photo shows the typical atmosphere of a rural railway in a small place called Faymonville.
