RadclyffeCeramicsBuried in a corner of my studio is a graveyard of hideous pots l've ruined trying to find the right bark glaze. Even after testing on smaller tiles and thinking they're the one, they don't always scale up the way you imagine.
I found two glazes by mayco that work for what l need.
The bottom is Winter Wood glaze, which can just be brushed on and is ready to fire. The top is a manganese wash, which has to be brushed on and then sponged off. With all the crags and texture it's a real journey. RIP to all my sponges. But it's my favorite out of the two.
