November 25th was the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. #Femicides are the tip of the iceberg. Unlike domestic violence, they sometimes get covered in the media here in Switzerland. Even though media coverage did improve in recent years, a femicide too often gets framed as a 'family drama' or 'tragedy'. Call it what it is, murder. The power of the media and its use of language should never be underestimated in the trivialisation of femicide.
