Photography. A color photo of a New Zealand bird called Takahe. The dark blue bird with red pointed beak, was photographed from the front so that its plumage and head form one unit and it looks like a blue ball with feet and beak. Magnificent capture with beautiful lighting, color, sharpness.
Info:
Members of the rail family, the South Island takahe is a flightless bird indigenous to New Zealand. Thought to be extinct, the species was re-discovered in 1948 and their numbers have been slowly growing ever since. There are now just over 400 takahe birds in New Zealand.
